Central Auckland City CBD: Steve Buckley, Strength and Conditioning Specialist https://stevebuckley.co.nz/ has vast experience coaching and performance testing elite athletes and sportspeople. Since Covid struck early 2020 and NZ was forced to lockdown, Steve extended his services to include customised online training programmes. Consistent with his passion to provide cost effective solutions to athletes without compromising quality he has spent the past couple of years utilising his extensive experience and has been working with IT developer Darren Clarke to create a platform which benchmarks sporting performance – FXV Human Performance Software.
As a Strength and Conditioning specialist Steve developed a testing protocol called the Pure Combine. It is an amalgamation of several commonly used tests which contribute to an overall Pure Athleticism Score.
Over four to five years Steve tested roughly 1500 unique athletes with his specific combine. With all this data consistently scaled athletes can see how they stack up against themselves and how they really compare to other competitors. The development of Steve’s platform will provide a much-needed athlete data management solution for coaches, trainers, all sporting codes, health practitioners and organisations where physical performance is assessed. Its focus is on improving athletic ability by bringing together all your performance data, training, coaching and results. As an ex-athlete himself Steve is very familiar with the high expense and lack of meaningful data software that is available. His FXV Human Performance Development Software aims to remedy that by being simple, user friendly and financially accessible for organisations of all sizes. Athletes and existing data can be bulk imported or entered directly into an athletes profile so previous data is not lost.
Steve hopes FXV Human Performance Development Software will level the playing field and allow more grass roots Kiwi athletes and sportspeople the edge they need to perform at their peak. Steve’s platform is designed to house data, create tests, run tests, and provide useful reports. Steve takes a holistic approach and with his extensive expertise he aims to work side by side with coaches, trainers, and athletes to continually develop the software with them. Steve is well known in NZ’s sporting community mostly from his time with the NZ Breakers when they won their first NBL Championship and won it three more times in the following four years but also from the seven years spent as a strength and conditioning specialist at High Performance Sport NZ. He has first-hand experience training athletes from a wide range of sports and events so has a solid grasp across many fields.
Steve is also still heavily involved in the fitness world and each week takes up to 10 one-on-one personal training clients, designs online training programmes, does commercial leasing with a focus on placing health and wellness facilities and provides strength and conditioning coaching to the local swim club in the evenings. From a young age Steve has been dedicated to sport and fitness. He understands how important health is and the part physical health plays in overall wellness. He places huge value on accessibility and quality to give everyone an opportunity to excel. This is seen in how his online personal training programmes can overcome the obstacle of money, travel, gym memberships and time.
Steve doesn’t do cookie cutter recipes so we’re sure to see quality and useful performance testing software emerge from him.
Steve keeps his finger on the pulse and remains accessible. Those who are interested can talk to Steve on the phone or Zoom so he can understand your needs and develop a solution. See Steve’s promo video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBPFfJfYE3M
